Why I ordered this item: I ordered this coarse sea salt to use for seasoning steaks and other meats that I like to cook occasionally.Pros:+ The kosher coarse sea salt tastes great, providing a good flavor for seasoning.+ It has the perfect texture and saltiness for the intended application of seasoning steaks.Cons:- The salt came clumpy and moist right out of the bag.- The clumpiness makes it hard to use for the intended application, which is a major drawback for a coarse salt.Would I pay full price for this product? No. Given that the product is already more than twice the price of other premium sea salt options I've found, the fact that it arrived moist and clumpy due to poor humidity control is unacceptable.Final thoughts:While the salt tastes great and is the size I wanted, the fact that it came clumpy makes it difficult to use as a coarse seasoning salt. For the high price, I would expect the humidity control to be better for this type of product.
Good salty taste without any off flavors. The salt is a bit wet, so it does clump a little bit. And as the name states, it is fairly coarse, so it won't be good for table application. I have used it successfully while cooking and a salt-encrusted fish bake.
I ordered "Le Marinier Baja Mineral Sea Salt Coarse Grain" My reviewThis is an incredible natural, unrefined sea salt that truly stands out. Sourced from the Sea of Cortez and hand-harvested, it has a rich, clean flavor that’s noticeably different from regular table salt—or even pink salt. I’m a loyal Redmond’s user, but every time I try salts from the Baja region, I’m reminded how special they are. You really don’t need much to bring out flavor in food. The packaging was moist when I opened it, which to me is a good sign of a high-quality, unrefined product—no drying or over-processing here. It’s also a fantastic option for making homemade electrolyte drinks or a cleaner version of “Gatorade.” Definitely worth keeping in the pantry!
The coarse grains deliver a satisfying crunch and punch of salty flavor that stands up well on roasted veggies and grilled meats. I appreciate the natural, unrefined texture. It’s more flavorful and mineral-rich compared to table salt. Just a quick pinch enhances depth in dishes like steak and salads without overdoing it. The coarse size gives me control to season by feel and adds a subtle artisanal touch to plating.
This is salt and nothing else. It has a great strong salty flavor. Because there's no anti-caking agent, the texture is coarse but clings to other grains and your skin and the bag and everything else. It's messy and a bit hard to use. The resealable strip at the top of the bag is clogged with salt crystals and useless, so you have to secure the bag closed another way. The clumping made me think it was wet at first, but no, that's just the way it is. I do like cooking with it so far. I'm just having to be careful with the way it clumps and clings to stuff, as that makes it harder for me to use it.
